John W. Starr WMA, in the Central region of Mississippi, is located in Oktibbeha and Winston Counties near Starkville.
Camping is allowed subject to U.S. Forest Service regulations, or the following regulations: camping is allowed in designated campsites only. Campers must obtain a permit from MSU Forest Operations (662) 325-2191.
Directions:
From Starkville, take Hwy 25 south toward Louisville. Travel approximately 10 miles and turn left onto Dorman Lake Rd. Permit station is on the left (there is no headquarters building on this area).
