Shipland Wildlife Management Area Birding & Wildlife Viewing Updated:07/2012

Shipland WMA consists of 3,462 acres located adjacent to the Mississippi River between Greenville and Vicksburg. The area hosts waterfowl species including mallards, canvasbacks, and Canada geese. Other species in the area include the white pelican, woodstork, and anhinga, as well as numerous songbirds.

Camping is allowed in designated areas only. A WMA Camping Permit is required for any individual or group (maximum of 6 people) that is camping on this WMA and may be purchased wherever licenses are sold. Camping is limited to 14 consecutive days. Camping equipment may not be left unattended for more than 24 hours.  All camping equipment and garbage must be removed before final departure.
