Vicksburg's bluffs represent the southernmost boundary of Mississippi's Alluvial Plain, also known as the Mississippi Delta. Upland hardwood forests serve as a refuge to more than 35 species of mammals, 175 species of birds, and 60 species of wildflowers. This National Park boasts a 16-mile tour road with 15 stops along the way. The park's visitor center can provide visitors with mammal, wildflower, and bird checklists.
